Using uniquely uncomfortable touch detection and a bespoke headset for movement-based control, SoulNet invites up to three players to engage in a virtual experience together. Physically separated, with their hands stuck in goo and their gaze glued to the projetion screen, audience members parttake in a rewarding abstract game that demands their constant and continued attention. At what point will they have enough?
Originally presented at Perspective Shift, a group show of interactive experiences criticallly engaging with creative technology at Superfluous Gallery at Arebyte, the installation went on to be selected for Escapade Escape Arcade by Oubliette, a group show exploring games and experiences that use novel, bespoke physical controllers, at Enter in London, UK.
Created by Orsolya Szantho, Adam Cole, Alexandre Tarek, Salli Malat, Lexin Zhou, Lea Ho, and Sixiong Sheng.
